Adopt London celebrates LGBTQ+ adopters this Pride Month

This Pride Month, Adopt London is proud to acknowledge the vital role LGBTQ+ adopters play in transforming the lives of children across the capital.
In England, around 1 in 5 adoptions are made by LGBTQ+ single people and couples, highlighting the significant contribution LGBTQ+ families make to adoption today.
Adopt London actively welcomes and encourages LGBTQ+ people to come forward to adopt. We are committed to ensuring that every prospective adopter is assessed fairly, with a focus on your ability to meet the needs of children waiting for a family. Factors such as sexuality, gender, marital status or age are never barriers to adoption. Whether single or in a relationship, married or not, what matters most is the ability to offer a nurturing and stable home environment.
We are incredibly proud of our LGBTQ+ adopters and the difference they make every day. Their commitment, compassion and resilience help children across London to thrive.
Adopt London provides ongoing support to LGBTQ+ adopters through partnerships such as New Family Social, a national charity run by LGBTQ+ adopters and foster carers. This community offers peer support, resources and opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences.
With many children in London still waiting for families — including sibling groups, younger children and those with additional needs — Adopt London is encouraging more LGBTQ+ people to come forward to find out more about adoption.
