Black Ballad Presents: The Survival Guide
Black Ballad’s podcast is called ‘Black Ballad Presents: The Survival guide’. It’s a series of short, candid conversations with Black British women about motherhood, identity and the realites of raising children in the UK. Think of it as an ongoing, honest conversation about what motherhood looks like for Black British women, covering everything that isn’t spoken about enough.
Topics include sex after childbirth, when to tell your children they are Black, dealing with teenagers, fertility and finance. Plus, a star-studded line-up of guests that includes Jamelia and Laura Henry-Allain MBE.
Several episodes touch directly upon adoption and, in fact, back in May 2022 Black Ballad partnered with us here at Adopt London to release a special on the realities of the adoption process and how we can better centre the child.
