Our message to our LGBTQ+ adopters and people considering adopting

13th October 2026 News

At Adopt London, we are proud of all our many LGBTQ+ adopters and positively welcome and support LGBTQ+ people who are considering adoption. We know that families come in many forms, and we value the diversity of experiences, identities and perspectives that strengthen our adoption community.

We also recognise that many LGBTQ+ people may be facing additional challenges, uncertainty or concerns in the current climate. We want to reassure anyone considering adoption that they will be treated with dignity, respect and understanding. Our commitment is to provide a supportive, inclusive environment where every LGBTQ+ adopter and prospective adopter feels valued, listened to and able to be themselves.

Adoption is about providing children with the love, stability and opportunities they need to thrive. At Adopt London LGBTQ+ people have long played an important role in offering safe, nurturing and permanent homes for children, and we are proud to work with our adopters across the city.

Our commitment to equality is not just reflected in our many LGBTQ+ adopters, but also in our workforce where the diversity of London is represented by many different people, each bringing their unique and valuable knowledge and experience to help find more families for children in London.

If you are thinking about adoption, we want you to know that you are welcome at Adopt London. Whatever your sexual orientation or gender identity, our team is here to support you throughout your journey and help you explore whether adoption is right for you with confidence.
