The internet really is an inspiring and positive place to be, today we highlight some of the advantages of maintaining an open dialogue with your children about their internet use.

For some children, the internet, and social media in particular, could be an unsafe place for them. So, good advice is to be prepared and up-to-date on the fast paced worldwide web. Take a look at the work by Childnet, the Safer Internet Centre (organisers of Safer Internet Day) and Islington Council, as they offer guidance on:

  • Age appropriate content
  • Cyber bullying
  • Commercialisation
  • How to start talking about your child’s internet use
  • Managing online contact with birth family
  • Advice and resources

If you discover, that you need support sooner, rather than later, please contact your local Adopt London support team for their guidance.
