Meet The Adopters Event – via Zoom
28th April 2020
6:30 pm — 8:30 pm
Your home
If you want to find out what adoption is really like do join us for this event. It is a great opportunity to learn about adoption from the experts – the adopters themselves.
You will hear from a panel of adopters who will talk about their adoption journey and life as adoptive parents. We have a number of adopters from many walks of life. They may be single, LGBT, sibling adopters, early permanence adopters, and from a range of ethnic backgrounds. They have all had different experiences – good and bad. They parent single children or siblings groups and speak openly and honestly about their experiences of working with social workers through the assessment period, as well as what it is like parenting their children. You will hear about how they were matched with their child, the first introductions, contact with birth families, accessing support and education, life as a family and the reality of parenting a child with a traumatic past. Come along, listen, and ask questions.
