New Family Social (NFS) is proud to connect and support LGBTQ+ adoptive families – and all LGBTQ+ families and individuals working with Adopt London can enjoy free membership.
What is New Family Social?
New Family Social is the UK’s only charity led by LGBTQ+ adopters and foster carers, supporting those who have been through the adoption process, have children, and have experienced the joys and sometimes challenges that previously looked-after children bring.
Alongside providing exclusive access to articles and podcasts, New Family Social also offers face-to-face and virtual meet-ups across the UK with like-minded peer groups, from chatty coffee mornings to informative webinars and their annual camping trip.
Blending national reach with a tight community feel, New Family Social supports you through your entire adoption journey.

To claim your free membership, contact your local RAA or your Adopt London social worker to express your interest. Alternatively, visit the NFS website and select ‘Join as part of an agency’, then choose Adopt London.

Is the New Family Social membership only for families who have adopted? +
No, it is also open to LGBTQ+ individuals and families at any stage of the adoption process, including those just starting to explore adoption. New Family Social can help you decide if adoption or fostering is right for you, and then support you on your journey to becoming parents and carers.
Is there a cost to renew my New Family Social membership? +
No, your membership will stay free through Adopt London.
Do I have to attend events in person? +
No, alongside in-person events, New Family Social also offers virtual events. You can take part wherever you are and in whatever capacity you are comfortable with.
Are children welcome at New Family Social events? +
Yes, many of the New Family Social events are family-friendly, with activities designed for children of different ages.
Can I volunteer or get more involved with New Family Social? +
Yes, New Family Social welcomes volunteers and involvement from their members. Support with events, share your stories or help run regional meetups.
