Two Good Mums
Two Good Mums is a lived-experience project led by two women who have worked together since meeting for the first time to break the boundaries of the rules of contact that they felt did not put the needs of the children first. They chose to prioritise the children’s needs and develop open contact.
The two women in question are Laura, a first mother, and Peggy, the adoptive mother of Laura’s two sons. Through their website, podcast, training and writing, they share how they built a safe, child-centred, open-contact relationship, making it a powerful resource for adopters who want practical insight into direct contact. They are a thoughtful example of what child-centred contact can look like.
